It is the most successful program that we have ever offered at our Rec Center! It is a female focused boxing class that really uses fun, community, and empowerment for one epic program.
Q: What would you say to a University who has never heard about PGB?
A: It is the most successful program that we have ever offered at our Rec Center! It is a female focused boxing class that really uses fun, community, and empowerment for one epic program. It creates a space not only where participants are challenged physically through the workout but they also grow mentally through the various tier challenges.
Q: Generally, how does PGB compares to other programs on campus?
A: Um it doesn’t!? Haha but in all honesty this program is like nothing else I’ve seen. It really does an amazing job at not only encouraging people to get active through boxing inspired workouts but the awesome part of PGB comes from the community and friendships that are built in the studio but then spill over into the rest of our lives.
Q: Specifically, what is the level of interest in PGB compared to other programs?
A: PGB does get quite a bit of interest and I would say it’s predominantly through word of mouth from the participants and the instructors. People hear about it and then want to experience it.
Q: Has PGB brought new students to the rec center? If so, why do you think that is?
A: Oh Absolutely! We have women each semester who tell our instructors that if it wasn’t for PGB they wouldn’t work out at all! I think the reason for that is that PGB is such an inclusive environment that really encourages each participant to work at their own level but they get the support and encouragement from the other participants as well as the instructor.
