A new Poem!!!
A Pink Gloves girl was approached by a stranger
She raised her fists and confronted the danger
“I’m scared of no one” she pierced through the air
He dropped to his knees reciting a prayer
“Please don’t punch me,” the stranger cried
He pleaded once more as he swallowed his pride
“I promise you I am not perverse
I only wanted to say that you dropped your purse”

Wearing the Gloves in Life’s Fight
When you incorporate a solid fitness routine into your life, you are wearing a glove on one hand. When you surround yourself with empowering and like-minded individuals, you are wearing a glove on the other hand. If you want to win in life’s boxing match, you had better be wearing two gloves.
Two PGB members from Billings, Montana show us how to keep the gloves on when you leave the gym.
Jackie Sweisz thanks her trainers, Donnette Roberts and Tanya Wilson, for teaching her to put the gloves on and she has decided to leave them on ever since. Metaphorically speaking, Jackie has taken the empowerment and positive support from her PGB class and applied it to her personal life.
“Tanya is a natural teacher…not intimidating, but she makes me feel very comfortable.”
“I have learned to be more assertive and make waves when it comes to what I want in life. I have learned to roll with the punches.” –JS
Though rolling with the punches may be her defense, Jackie’s offense has been very productive as well. She has re-dedicated herself to her true passion of writing, and we can be expecting to read her book in the near future. Stay tuned for more on Jackie.
Words that pack a punch – Tanya says it best
PGB has influenced my life beyond the gym more than I would of ever
imagined. Not only do I carry myself with more self-pride, but I feel as
if anything is possible and I can achieve any goal I set for myself. Not
only does PGB change you physically, but the emotional and mental impact is
profound as well. It boosts your self-esteem and is a great stress
reducer. Since signing up for PGB in August 2010 I have earned my pink
wraps, pink gloves, mitts and have become a certified PGB trainer. Not only
do I teach PGB, but I am still a member of my original class and am
currently working on my first stripes for my gloves. WOW! If you would of
asked me 11 months ago, ‘if I would be where I am today,’ I would have thought it
impossible. Well, I have managed to turn the impossible, into the
possible and now I get to share my love and enjoyment of PGB with other
members of my class as well as the community. PGB has become a second
family where we all truly care about each other. It is a support system
like no other. When I was asked to demonstrate PGB at our local mall (in
front of strangers) I initially thought there was no way I would ever do
something like that. However, my encouraging trainer and mentor
Donnette (who is now a wonderful friend of mine) made me realize
that I could do anything. Ever since then, I have not looked back. When
asked if I was interested in becoming a trainer I didn’t have to think
twice, I saw it as a great opportunity. The most rewarding part of all is
watching the other students. The smiles on their face when they execute a
perfect punch combo and the joy they bring to each class is priceless.
